COVID-19?
As passionate as we are about cyber security, safety is our number one priority. We sincerely hoped that the situation around COVID-19 would improve enough to continue our event on Clemson University’s campus. However, based on local health experts and community leader recommendations, it has been determined that CUCTF 2020 will be a completely virtual event on October 3rd. We refuse to be set back from this announcement and will use this opportunity to:
- Allow more colleges and universities to participate by expanding our CTF infrastructure
- Present opening and closing ceremonies via Zoom
- Utilize Discord to answer questions, push notifications, and maintain a connection with participants
Where is the event being held?

CUCTF 2020 will be held online. More information on how to compete remotely will be announced closer to the competition start date.
When is the event?

CUCTF 2020 will start October 3rd, 2020 at 12:00pm EDT
CUCTF 2020 will end October 3rd, 2020 at 8:00pm EDT.
Who is eligible for the event?

Only university and college teams are eligible for CUCTF 2020.
How many people are allowed on a team?

Under normal conditions team size is limited to 4 students. However, because CUCTF 2020 is a remote event, team size will not be limited. Any number of students from the same school can join a team.
Do we get anything for winning?

Yes! We'll announce the prizes and update this FAQ once we have more information on awards. In 2019, winners received trophies along with cash prizes.
How will participants and sponsors interact?

One reason organizations sponsor CUCTF 2020 is to recruit talented individuals who have an interest in cyber security. When registering for the event, participants will have the option of submitting a resume. Sponsors with Bronze status and up will then have the ability to view these submitted resumes and contact applicants if interested. Sponsors with Silver status and up will have the option to host virtual Zoom lobbies to connect with participants.
What is the CTF bootcamp's purpose?

The CTF bootcamp serves to allow participating schools to get more students involved at CUCTF 2020. These additional members will solve basic CTF problems guided by CU Cyber mentors and have the opportunity to have a "CTF experience" regardless of their background in cyber security!
